Yizumi Family Open Day 2013 was held from July 24 to 26. Family members of 138 outstanding employees were invited to attend a series of activities organized by the employer—Yizumi.
During the 3-day event, the employee family members were arranged to pay a visit to city of Shunde where Yizumi is located. Places of interest including Shunde Exhibition Center and Shunde Silk Museum left a deep impression on the guests. What amazed these guests from afar most were the environment and facilities of Yizumi: the garden-like factory, modern office buildings, neat workshops, clean canteen, standard employee dormitory and well-equipped sports park. The visible hard power of Yizumi assured these families that machine manufacturer, at least Yizumi, did not necessarily have something to do with dirty, messy and bad conditions.
The soft power was also notably reflected in numerous details of this event: a warm welcome, sincere handshakes and greetings, smiles on the senior executives’ faces, careful service from the receptionists and friendly nods of the workers. One employee’s family member said, “People working in Yizumi are nice, so are the senior executives. It’s like coming home.” Indeed, the event highlighted the feeling of home. “We hope this event enables our employees’ families know more about their life and work at Yizumi. This is also a great opportunity for communication between the employees and their families. For some young employees, they may get more energy and motivation from this event and become more concentrated on their work.” said Richard Yan, CEO of Yizumi.
Yizumi organized a fun dinner party to welcome the guests from all over the country. Though they were strangers to each other before the party, they still had pleasant conversations while enjoying the delicious food and drinks, wonderful performances and funny interactive games that night.
The most important part of the 3-day event was absolutely the family reunion. These guests put their work aside and took a long journey simply to see their children or spouse who worked at Yizumi far away from their hometown and whom they missed all the time. Touching moments were filled with the gathering. The employees and their families were grateful to Yizumi for holding this Family Open Day.
