Walking on the path of Shunfengshan Park, you may be attracted by a group of volunteers in red and dozens of smiling faces.

To enrich the life of disabled children and appeal to the public to be more concerned with this minority group, Yi Xin Volunteers Association and Yizumi’s volunteers invited 16 disabled children from Wei Quan Rehabilitation Center to take part in activities in Shunfengshan Park.

"Going to Shunfengshan is easy for normal children but difficult for the disabled, as they need more care from people,” one of the volunteers said. To guarantee the safety of 16 children, every child was looked after by three volunteers.

In the corridor, the volunteers and children were playing the drum-and-pass game: One was beating the drum along with the music while others passed the flower in turn. Whoever got the flower when the music stops would put on performance. Children were delighted by the game and gifts given by Yizumi’s volunteers. In addition, children finished pictures of love with the help of volunteers. 

"All children are very happy because they can go out for fun in such fine weather. You know, they seldom have chances to do this,” said the volunteer Liang Simin. She hoped the activities today would warm the heart of children so that they could have happiness like the normal peers, encourage the disabled children to develop a positive attitude towards life and draw more concern for these children. 

"It is incumbent on the society to offer help and services for disabled children and create a better environment for them”, the volunteers association appealed to the public.
